Foreign national, aged 65, found dead on Dasoudi beach early Monday morning

A senior citizen was found dead on a Limassol beach Monday morning, with police not ruling out any scenarios yet.

A concerned citizen notified authorities around 6:25am, saying he discovered a body on Dasoudi beach, Limassol district.

Police who rushed to the scene did not rule out any scenarios, while some reports saiid preliminary findings did not point to any foul play.

State forensic pathologist Sofocles Sofocleous, who was expected at the crime scene in the morning, said there were no visible external injuries. A post mortem later conducted by state pathologist Nicholas Charalmbous is expected to show the exact cause of death. 

Reports said the man who was found dead was a 65-year-old foreign national who lived permanent on the island, while no further details were immediately available.
