Cypriot and Georgian parliaments support closer ties

President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris, in Georgia on the first official visit by a Cypriot House Speaker to the country, has expressed his wish to enhance ties with the Georgian parliament.

On Monday, Syllouris held a meeting with his counterpart, Irakli Kobakhidze, during which they both reaffirmed the friendly and historical ties between the two countries and expressed their willingness to further deepen their relations.

In addition, according to a press release issued by the Cypriot Parliament, they expressed their support to the territorial integrity of the two countries.

Syllouris also expressed Cyprus 'support to Georgia's European aspirations.

Κοbakhidze accepted an official invitation extended to him by Syllouris to visit Cyprus in due time.
