Cyprus President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris pays a three-day working visit to Israel from Sunday November 18, 2018.

Syllouris began his visit with a meeting with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem. During the meeting, Syllouris stressed the importance of Patriarchate’s mission and expressed Cyprus’ support.

Patriarch Theophilos briefed Syllouris on the current issues of concern, expressing gratitude to the Government of Cyprus for its support which he described as valuable, while making a reference to the positive impact the Tripartite Cooperation between Cyprus, Greece and Israel has. He also referred to the contribution of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem to the inter-religious and intercultural dialogue conducted in the Middle East.

On Sunday evening, Israeli Minister for Regional Cooperation Tzachi Hanegbi offered a working dinner to House Presisent, during which they discussed issues of bilateral relations.
