In response to ongoing investigations into the possession and transportation of firearms with intent to incite terror, law enforcement executed a judicial warrant leading to the apprehension of a 23-year-old individual. The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, was promptly brought before the Famagusta District Court, where a seven-day detention order was issued.

This significant development follows a previous arrest on May 13, 2024, involving a minor also linked to the same case. The minor, whose details have not been disclosed, underwent similar legal proceedings at the Famagusta District Court, resulting in an eight-day detention order.

The Cyprus Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken charge of the investigation, employing their expertise to delve deeper into the matter. Their efforts include thorough examinations of evidence, interviews, and cooperation with relevant agencies to unravel the full extent of the case.

With public safety at the forefront, authorities remain vigilant as they work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served and potential threats are mitigated. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to aid in the ongoing investigation.
