Mixed weather to persist over next several days

Periods of sunshine, looming clouds with chances of rain, and some dust in the mix

A weak high pressure system is still affecting the area over Cyprus, with a low to medium chance of rain and temperatures expected to drop to normal averages for this time of the year.

Wednesday will include periods of sunshine throughout the day but also partly cloudy skies with medium and high formations, while low chances of showers are expected in local areas.

High concentrations of dust have also been included in the forecast through Friday, although weather officials expect particles to remain low in intensity for the most part.

Temperature highs will reach 27 degrees Celsius inland, around 25 along the coast, while it will be 18 degrees high up in the mountains.

Evening skies will be partly cloudy and at times cloudy, with mainly medium altitude formations, while temperature lows will drop to 12 degrees inland and southwest, around 15 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 8 higher up.

Mixed weather is also expected Thursday with chances of light rain mainly in the mountains, while Friday skies will be cloudy with chances of afternoon local showers and isolated thunderstorms in the eastern half of the island.

A weak low pressure system will be introduced in the afternoon along with a gradual drop in temperature that will continue into Saturday, when skies will remain partly cloudy with chances of showers and thunderstorms persisting throughout the day.
