The investigation into the attempted murder of a 34-year-old continues at a brisk pace by the investigative team of the Nicosia Police Department.

Christos Andreou, the Police Spokesperson, informed the Cyprus News Agency that the 34-year-old victim remains hospitalized in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.

Mr. Andreou stated that the investigations by the Nicosia Police Department's investigative team are proceeding as normal, noting that a number of individuals have been called in for questioning.

According to Christos Andreou, investigators spent several hours yesterday in the wider area where the attempted murder took place, aiming to gather testimonies that may assist in the investigative process.

He noted that some evidence was collected from the scene, which has already been sent for forensic examination.

Furthermore, it was reported that authorities have also focused on closed-circuit television cameras in an effort to identify the perpetrators.

Recalling that authorities were alerted to the incident on Tuesday afternoon upon receiving information about gunshots fired on the road between Palaihori and Anthoupolis, Mr. Andreou mentioned that police officers promptly arrived at the scene for examination, where it was discovered that the victim, a 34-year-old, had been transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital.

Information suggests that the victim was riding a large-capacity motorcycle, with the perpetrators following on a scooter-type motorcycle.

At some point, the perpetrators appeared to decrease their speed as they approached the 34-year-old and opened fire against him.

The assailants fired three times at their target, with one of the three bullets hitting him in the neck.
