Police have received reports of money being stolen from citizens' bank accounts after victims are sent messages via SMS or email asking them to click on the links provided in the message and provide personal data.
Recipients of these messages are advised to exercise extreme caution and NOT select or click on these electronic links as there is a chance that money will be taken from their bank accounts and that their personal information will be accessed.
Citizens are also called upon to report these incidents to their local police station or the main police headquarters on Limassol Avenue in Nicosia.
