Dhiraj Mukherjee, the co-founder of Shazam Entertainment, pioneered the development of the world's first mobile phone-based music recognition service. This groundbreaking technology caught the attention of Apple, leading to its acquisition in 2017 for a staggering $400 million.
In 2015, Dhiraj was recognized by the Financial Times as one of Europe's top 50 tech entrepreneurs, and in 2016, he was elected as a member of The Digital Banking Club's 'Power 50'. Previously, he served as the Head of Banking Innovation at Virgin Money, where he played a key role in developing new digital banking services, including one specifically designed for serving 2.2 million students in the UK.
Currently, Dhiraj is an "Angel Investor" with a focus on emerging technologies and "Tech for Good". He was also selected for Smith & Williamson's 2017 Power 100 for his support of innovation and entrepreneurship in the UK.
Dhiraj holds a degree in Mathematical Economics from Dartmouth College, USA, and an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. He frequently speaks at conferences on topics such as innovation, entrepreneurship, and emerging technology.
Dhiraj Mukherjee has been invited as one of the keynote speakers at the Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit 2023, scheduled to take place on 17 October at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.
The 6th Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit 2023, centered around the theme "The New Normal," will address contemporary issues impacting humanity at the local and regional levels.
