The accident comes just hours after a morning deadly car crash in Limassol, when a father of two was killed instantly and his two kids injured in a rollover collision.

The Larnaca highway accident took place near the Aradippou area, outside Avdelleros village, around 2:40pm, under circumstances that are still being investigated.

The 5-year-old child was reportedly fatally wounded in the accident and died a moment later in front of the eyes of the parents.

The whole family of five were riding in the pickup truck, with the father as the driver, the mother as a co-passenger along with their two other children aged nine and four.

At one point, the pickup truck collided with a saloon and rolled over fatally injuring the family’s 5-year-old child inside the vehicle.

The 35-year-old mother and the 4-year-old were critically injured and rushed to hospital, while the dad was reportedly doing okay.

Police announced road closures in the area, calling on drivers heading to Nicosia, Larnaca or Limassol to take the Oroklini exit and make their way towards the old Famagusta-Larnaca main road.

The driver of the second vehicle was also injured but not critically.
