The consultations of Jane Holl Lute, the UN Secretary-General’s special envoy on Cyprus, are under way to determine the future of the negotiations according to Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
Responding to a question regarding the future of Cyprus talks, during the daily press briefing, in New York, Dujarric said the UN will say more once there is something concrete to announce.
“The consultations are continuing. We flagged up Ms Jane Holl Lute’s discussions when they happened. When we have something to announce, to be more concrete, we shall” Dujarric noted.

The Spokesperson was also asked about an interview last week by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, with some analysts commenting that Turkey does not consider the Guterres Framework as the basis for a new round of negotiations in Cyprus.
“I will leave the analysis of comments to analysts and journalists. As you know consultations are under way to determine the future of the negotiations, so at this point I’m not going to comment any further,” Dujarric said.
Asked also about a controversial OSCE glossary for journalists in Cyprus, the Spokesperson referred the question to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, saying that the glossary contains the work of this organization.
