Once again, Petrolina's contribution to the organization of the OPAP Limassol Marathon was dynamic. The marathon took place on April 13th - 14th, 2024, with a record number of participants exceeding 17,000 runners from Cyprus and abroad.
Petrolina which has long become synonymous with the OPAP Limassol Marathon, as one of its most active collaborators, supported this year’s event by sponsoring the ''Petrolina 10km Energy Race'', which was held on Sunday 14 April, with the participation of thousands of runners.
The Petrolina Energy Team, comprised of volunteers from Petrolina including company employees and their families, once again had a massive presence. Team members participated in the Corporate 5km Race, while others staffed the company’s booth at the Sponsor’s Village. Additionally, as part of the company's sponsorship, the ''Petrolina Energy Concert'' featuring the band Mr. Wilson was successfully held at the Sponsor Village.
Kostakis Lefkaritis, the Executive Chairman of Petrolina (Holdings) Public Ltd, highlighted: ''Within the framework of corporate social responsibility, a sector in which Petrolina has been pioneering for years, Petrolina supported this year's Limassol Marathon. As Limassol develops, so does its marathon, and we see an increasing number of participants. Petrolina has been actively supporting sports for many years, and we do it with great pleasure, acknowledging the benefits that sports offer to all of us.''
Georgia Lefkariti, Executive Director of Petrolina (Holdings) Public Ltd, extended congratulations to the runners, participants, and organizers, stating: ''Petrolina consistently supports major events that promote sports, enhance the culture of healthy competition and volunteerism, not only showcase Cyprus internationally but also convey values and ideals that we, as a Cypriot company, promote and uphold.''
Sports represent one of the fundamental pillars of Petrolina’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, as it promotes values such as integrity, teamwork, discipline, and dedication.
