EY and Hult International Business School announce new Masters in Sustainability, free for all EY people

  • Masters program will help expand sustainability and climate literacy
  • Free for all EY people regardless of rank, tenure or location
  • New survey finds 74% of EY people want to participate in activities that help communities and the environment

The EY organization, in association with Hult International Business School, today announces a fully accredited Masters in Sustainability, dedicated to EY people (312,000) exclusively. It will be free of charge and available to all, regardless of rank, tenure or location.

The new qualification is being launched alongside a recent survey of EY people across the globe that found nearly three-quarters (74%) want to participate in activities that have a positive impact on communities and the environment.

The EY Masters in Sustainability by Hult, the first qualification of its kind, will significantly expand sustainability and climate literacy among EY people and help them translate those skills into new and innovative sustainability services for clients around the globe. All learning will be provided entirely online and candidates will be able to study from anywhere in the world, at a pace that works for them.

The new qualification will be awarded by Hult International Business School, which is renowned for its skill-focused approach to education and commitment to practical learning. Hult is the first triple-accredited business school in the US and regularly ranked as one of the top business schools in the world.

The EY Masters in Sustainability by Hult is the latest qualification in collaboration with Hult International Business School offered completely free for all EY people. In 2021, the EY organization and Hult announced a new Masters in Business Analytics, and in 2020 the first-ever fully accredited virtual corporate Master of Business Administration (MBA) course was announced. Separately, the EY Tech MBA by Hult has been awarded to 55 EY people so far.

In addition to building climate literacy among its people, the EY organization is committed to accelerating climate action. In 2021 the EY organization became carbon negative, a major step toward achieving the EY carbon ambition of becoming net zero by 2025. To achieve this ambition, EY teams have  set an aggressive target to significantly reduce its emissions by 40% by 2025 through seven key actions.

Alongside the work the organization is undertaking to become more sustainable, EY teams continue to develop and invest in global sustainability services for EY clients. The services are focused on value-led sustainability, helping EY clients capture the business opportunities from sustainability and decarbonization, while also protecting and creating value.

Comenting on the new program, Ronald Attard, Country Managing Partner of EY Cyprus, said: ''Sustainability is one of the defining issues of our time, a major challenge, but also a great opportunity for humanity. At EY we are determined to continue to lead in the global effort to build a more sustainable world. This new Masters, with its practical, hands-on, sustainability curriculum, is the first of its kind, and a great opportunity for our people to grow and enhance their skills and understanding. It will help us implement the ambitious targets we have set and allow us to support our clients more effectively in tackling some of the most important issues they are facing.''
