Seventy-one students and teachers from The English School in Cyprus remain stranded at their hotel in Switzerland following a landslide caused by severe weather.

The students were on a school trip and are reported to be safe, with access to all essential supplies at their hotel.

The Cyprus Embassy in Rome, which is accredited to Switzerland, has been handling the situation from the outset. There is ongoing communication with the trip organizers and the parents' representatives. Cyprus' Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos has also been involved in the efforts.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Theodoros Gotsis reassured that there is no cause for concern and that the issue is expected to be resolved soon, allowing the students to return to Cyprus safely.
