Senior United Nations official Jane Holl Lute continues her consultations on Tuesday, which are aimed at facilitating agreement on the terms of reference that would constitute a consensus starting point for a possible negotiated conclusion to the Cyprus issue.

Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides said that a document containing a list of convergences on the guidelines of a negotiating process has been drafted by the UN envoy.

Christodoulides revealed that the document contains a number of headlines which will be announced following the meeting of the two leaders with the UN Secretary General in New York.

''The solution sought has been reaffirmed in writing, also reaffirmed are the convergences that led to convening the Crans Montana international conference'', said the Foreign Minister adding that ''the United Nations and the international community understand that a  prerequisite for resuming talks is for Turkey's provocative and illegal actions to end''.

Jane Holl Lute continues her contacts on the island while the President has called a meeting of the national council.
