A total of 250 mothers from large families are set to receive a €400 payment as part of a recognition initiative tied to the country’s ongoing demographic challenges.

The awards will be presented during a special ceremony on Sunday, May 3, organized by the Pancyprian Organization of Large Families. The event centers on population trends in Cyprus, an issue that continues to rank among the country’s most pressing concerns.

According to the organization’s president, Dinos Olympios, the honorees include women who have given birth to five or more children, along with mothers whose four children have completed service in the National Guard. Additional recognition will be given to older mothers who have raised four children or have three children who served in the National Guard.

The ceremony will take place at the Christiana reception venue in Alambra at 11:00 a.m. A message on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, will be delivered by Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Klea Chatzistefanou Papaellina. Each of the women being honored will also receive a commemorative shield from both the organizing body and the Ministry of Defence.
