Cars from €500 go under the hammer in Mosfiloti

Bank of Cyprus vehicle auction takes place Tuesday, with viewing available ahead of the sale.

A car for €500? That should get a few people to stop scrolling through secondhand listings.

Bank of Cyprus is putting vehicles up for auction in Mosfiloti on Tuesday, Nov. 3, with prices listed from €500—an attention-grabbing figure for anyone trying to find a set of wheels on a tight budget.

The auction begins at 3 p.m. at the Auction Yard, 12 Limassol Avenue, 7647 Mosfiloti, Larnaca district.

For households juggling bills, school runs, and the cost of keeping an aging car going, the sale could be worth a look. But an auction is an auction: a listed price is a place to start, and competing bids can push the final bill higher.

Interested buyers can browse the vehicle lists and photographs beforehand, then visit the yard to take a closer look.

Viewing times are:

- Monday, Nov. 2: 10 a.m.–1 p.m. and 2–5 p.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 3: 10 a.m.–2:30 p.m., half an hour before the auction begins.

Before getting carried away with visions of a bargain, check the vehicle’s condition and the auction terms, and work out your total budget, including any repairs or other costs.

The trick is to leave with affordable transport—and enough money left to put fuel in it.
