An 11-year-old girl was hospitalized after the electric bicycle she was riding collided with a car in a village in the Nicosia district, authorities said Saturday.
The crash occurred around 6:20 p.m. Friday, according to police. The girl was riding her bicycle when it collided, under circumstances still under investigation, with a vehicle driven by a 54-year-old man.
She fell onto the roadway and sustained injuries. Paramedics transported her by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors determined she suffered pelvic fractures. She was admitted for further treatment, police said.
The Pera Chorio Police Station is leading the investigation into the incident.
