13-year-old cyclist injured in Paphos traffic collision

Teen hospitalized after bicycle crash at roundabout

A 13-year-old cyclist, who got injured in a traffic accident on Thursday afternoon at the roundabout where Ellados and Evagora Pallikaridi avenues intersect in Paphos, is currently being treated for a broken collarbone at Makarios Hospital in Nicosia.

According to the spokesperson for the Paphos Police, Michalis Nikolaou, the 13-year-old was riding his bicycle towards the roundabout, heading west, when he collided with a vehicle moving towards Eleftheriou Venizelou street.

As a result of the accident, the 13-year-old cyclist sustained injuries and was transported by an ambulance to Paphos General Hospital, where he received initial medical assistance. According to the attending doctors, the minor suffered a fracture in his right collarbone.

Due to his status as a child, as stated by the Police spokesperson, he was subsequently transferred by ambulance to Makarios Hospital for further treatment and examinations.

The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the Paphos Traffic Department.
