21% of Cypriots found it difficult to heat their homes in 2020

21% of Cypriots found it difficult to heat their homes in 2020, compared to 8% on average in the European Union, according to data released by Eurostat, the EU statistical office.

The situation differs considerably from one Member State to another, noted Eurostat.

In particular, the highest percentages of citizens who stated that they could not sufficiently heat their homes in 2020 were recorded in Bulgaria (27%), followed by Lithuania (23%), Cyprus (21%) and Portugal and Greece (both at 17%).

The lowest rates, around 2%, were recorded in Austria, Finland, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
