Police arrested 42 third-country nationals found to be living illegally in the Republic of Cyprus during a nationwide operation on Wednesday.
The operation was carried out by the Aliens and Immigration Unit as part of efforts to identify and apprehend people who do not have legal permission to remain in the country.
The 42 individuals are expected to be repatriated to their countries of origin. The relevant procedures will be launched in cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection.
The operation forms part of a series of actions focused on the return of foreign nationals who are residing illegally in Cyprus.
The Aliens and Immigration Unit also took part in a joint operation with Frontex last Monday, resulting in the repatriation of a further nine people.
According to police figures, 7,239 people have been deported or repatriated to their countries of origin since the start of 2026.
