A low pressure system is affecting Cyprus this week, bringing chances of afternoon showers across the island along with near gale force winds.
Monday skies will be fair in the morning but increasing clouds are expected over local areas in the afternoon, when there will be scattered showers and near gale force winds. Weather officials also warn there will be periods of dust in the atmosphere.
Temperature highs will reach 30 degrees Celsius inland and on the northern coast, 28 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 20 high up in the mountains.
Evening weather will continue to be wet and cloudy, mainly in the north and out west, with temperature lows dropping to 16 inland and north, 17 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 8 degrees higher up.
Temperature will drop slightly on Tuesday but it is expected to rise back up again on Thursday, when levels will be close to normal averages for this time of the year.
Afternoon showers are expected through midweek, including isolated thunderstorms in the northern half of the island.
