Government Spokesperson Kyriakos Koushios announced Cyprus’ new Cabinet on Wednesday, after the appointment of the current Ministers of Justice and Defence as Attorney-General and Deputy Attorney-General on Tuesday paved the way for a cabinet reshuffle.
According to Koushios, President Nicos Anastasiades decided to appoint lawyer Emily Yiolitis as the new Minister of Justice and Public Order.

Current Deputy Shipping Minister Natasa Pilides will be assuming the role of Minister of Energy, Commerce and Indrustry, as the current Minister Giorgos Lakkotrypis recently stepped down after more than seven years in office.

Pilides’ current post will be assumed by shipping expert Vasilis Demetriades.
In the position of Minister of Defence, Anastasiades appointed the current mayor of Aglantzia, Charalambos Petrides. By-elections will be held for a new mayor of the Aglantzia municipality.

Koushios said the date of the confirmation ceremony will be announced in the coming days.
