Clear skies with some isolated showers in the mountains

Increasing temperatures expected through midweek

Newsroom

A weak low-pressure system is affecting the island today, bringing mainly clear skies. However, along the coast, low clouds are expected to form in some places. From midday onwards, cloud development in the highlands may lead to isolated showers. Winds will start from the northeast to southeast, locally variable, light at 3 Beaufort, and will gradually shift to southwest to northwest, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will generally be calm to a little rough. Temperatures are expected to rise to approximately 39°C inland, around 30°C on the west coast, 33°C on the rest of the coast, and about 29°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear. Later in the night and during the morning hours, thin fog, mist, or low cloud may form in some inland areas, particularly in the south and east. Winds will gradually become downslope, light at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will stay calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 24°C inland and on the coast, and about 18°C in the higher mountains.

The weather will be mostly clear throughout Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will gradually rise through Thursday, reaching significantly above seasonal averages.
