A 60-year-old Cypriot man, who fell off a concrete mixer in a work-related accident 10 days ago, died Monday night in the Intensive Care Unit.

The man, Cleanthis Mortis, had gone to his factory in Koutrafa, Nicosia district, on April 15, where authorities believe he climbed the ladder of a concrete mixer, lost his balance, and fell to the ground.

Mortis was being looked after in the ICU in Nicosia for serious head injuries when at 7:45pm on Monday he succumbed to his injuries.

Police investigators in Peristerona, who did not have all the details as to why Mortis lost his balance, were informed of Mortis’ passing.

It is unclear if the investigation was completed but police did not believe foul play was involved.
