Counting down to Easter... and still battling the dust

Clouds, a chance of rain, stubborn dust and a midweek cool-down—just a few hurdles before the holiday break.

Newsroom

It’s only Tuesday, but we’re already dreaming of chocolate eggs, family feasts, and a few glorious days off. Easter break is creeping closer, and with a bit of luck, so is some decent weather. We just have to survive the week, and that includes dealing with the one thing we didn’t ask for: more dust.

Here’s what to expect today:

The day starts off on a cloudy note, with medium to high clouds and the chance of some light, scattered rain. Thankfully, it’s expected to clear up as the day goes on. But yes, that annoying layer of dust in the air? Still hanging around.

Winds will blow mostly from the northeast to the southeast at light to moderate strength, 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale. The sea will be a little choppy. Temperatures will reach 25°C inland, about 23°C along the coast, and 16°C up in the mountains.

Tonight:

Mostly clear skies, though some high clouds may drift by. Winds will shift to a northwesterly breeze, 3 Beaufort inland and up to 4 in the west. The sea will stay calm to slightly rough, a bit more unsettled out west.

Overnight temps will fall to 12°C inland, 15°C along the coast, and 8°C in the highlands.

Midweek sneak peek:

Wednesday through Friday will bring patches of thicker cloud and the odd isolated shower.

Temperatures will take a noticeable drop by Thursday and stay below the seasonal average into Friday. And as for the dust… well, don’t toss the antihistamines just yet.
