A road collision in Geroskipou, in the Paphos district, sent five people to hospital on Friday morning, including a five-month-old baby who remains in serious condition.

Police said the crash occurred at around 8:30am on Tasos Papanastasiou Street, under circumstances that are still being investigated. A car driven by a 63-year-old woman collided with another vehicle operated by a 48-year-old man, who was travelling with his family.

The man’s passengers included his 33-year-old wife and their two young daughters, aged three years and five months. All individuals involved sustained injuries and were taken by ambulance to Paphos Hospital for treatment.

Due to the severity of the infant’s condition, the five-month-old was later transferred to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia, where doctors described the baby’s state as serious.

The Paphos traffic police are continuing inquiries to determine how the accident happened.
