Pizza Hut is making a comeback in Greece, this time under the management of PHC Franchised Restaurants Ltd, a Nicosia-based company that oversees approximately 120 franchised restaurants and cafes in Greece and Cyprus.
The first new outlet of the iconic pizza chain is set to open at the historic location of the former Lenztos cafe in Pangrati, Athens.
In an interview with Capital.gr, Konstantinos Ntoumis, general manager of the company, said that the Pangrati branch is expected to open its doors on December 20, as construction is already underway.
“We will pursue an aggressive growth plan, though its pace will be guided by the success of the venture,” Ntoumis said, adding that, under the agreement with Yum! Brands – the American multinational that owns Pizza Hut – they are committed to opening a specified number of outlets each year.
Pizza Hut had previously ceased operations in Greece in July 2020, at the peak of the coronavirus crisis, when all 16 locations were shut down due to the chain’s activities becoming unsustainable.
