Newsroom

An odd mixture of very hot daytime weather and unexpectedly cooler evenings is set for Friday and over the weekend, with temperatures in the upper 30’s pledging nothing but pure unadulterated heat while the sun is up.

Friday will be mostly clear with high temperatures expected to reach 38° Celsius inland, around 32° in the south and east coasts, 30° in all other coastal regions and 27° up in the mountains.

The feel factor is higher than actual registered temperatures, with people already reporting higher temperatures in Larnaca than officially registered

The feel factor is higher than actual registered temperatures, with people already reporting higher temperatures in Larnaca. A car reading at 11:30am showed outside temperature at 38° degrees.

But a cooler evening will be a nice break before heat picks up again over the weekend, essentially mixing hot weather during the day with cooler evenings in between.

Low temperatures on Friday are expected to drop down to 19° inland and all around the coast while it will be 15° in higher elevations.

Saturday and Sunday will be mostly clear while Monday will be partly cloudy.

Sunday is also expected to bring dust in the atmosphere but no official warnings have been issued.
