Cyprus’ Department of Road Transport is warning consumers about several electric bicycles, passenger vehicles and a truck tire model that have been flagged as unsafe in the European Union’s rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products.
The advisory covers alerts issued during Week 46 of 2025 and follows information provided to the agency by the Consumer Protection Service.
The department said the unsafe electric bicycles include the Forever XT600, Bluvall, Frike ATX-88E0, Frike ATX88E3, Gicinu and YDLD-DL-6010C 60V3A.
It also cautioned owners of several passenger vehicles: the Ferrari 296 GTB and 296 GTS (model years from 2021 onward); the Audi A6, A7 and Q5 manufactured between Aug. 1, 2019, and Aug. 31, 2024; the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class and CLA-Class built between June 3 and July 3, 2025; and an additional Audi Q5 group produced between Aug. 17, 2020, and Aug. 23, 2024.
In addition, the Goodyear KMAX D Gen2 truck tire manufactured during Weeks 39, 40 and 41 of 2025 has been listed for safety concerns.
Details for each alert can be found on the EU Safety Gate website by searching the product’s alert number.
The department urged manufacturers, importers, distributors and sellers who may have supplied the affected products in Cyprus to notify authorities and take all required steps under national law to remove the items from the market.
Consumers who own any of the listed products are advised to contact the manufacturer or distributor for guidance. The agency said consumers should stop using affected components where appropriate and return them to the point of purchase, if possible.
If businesses refuse to address consumer requests related to the alerts, consumers may file a written complaint with the Consumer Protection Service at www.consumer.gov.cy.
