Cyprus will send six athletes to the Special Olympics World Winter Games this year

Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing among competitive events

A press conference was held on February 27th at the Olympic Mansion to officially present the Cypriot delegation for the upcoming Special Olympics World Winter Games, set to take place in Turin from March 7th to 16th this year.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including a representative from the Chief of Police, a representative from the Ministry of Education, the Mayor of Latsia, the parents of the athletes, sponsors of the Cypriot delegation, and other official dignitaries.

The Cypriot delegation, which will compete in the prestigious international event, comprises 3 female athletes, 3 male athletes, 2 coaches, a doctor, an assistant head of delegation, and the head of delegation. The athletes will be participating in cross country skiing and snowshoeing events, with strong preparation and high hopes of securing numerous medals.

The event also spolighted the generous financial support from the sponsors of the Cypriot delegation, including OPAP Cyprus Ltd, IronFX, and other anonymous benefactors, whose contributions were essential in making the team's participation possible.
