At 10 a.m. today, a Solemn Doxology took place in the Holy Church of Panagia Faneromeni, led by the Archbishop of Cyprus, Georgios. Among the distinguished guests were President Nikos Christodoulidis, Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Athena Michaelidou, Speaker of the Parliament Annita Dimitriou, and Greek Ambassador Ioannis Papameletiou. Archbishop George will deliver the day's eulogy.
Following the ceremony, veterans, students from higher education institutions, secondary school students, scouts, unions, and organizations participated in a parade through the streets.
Later at 12:30 p.m., President Christodoulidis is scheduled to attend and deliver a speech at the reception hosted by the Greek Ambassador at the embassy residence.
Similar Doxologies and parades are planned in other cities across Cyprus. In Limassol, Minister of Justice and Public Order Marios Hartsiotis attended the Doxology at the Holy Church of Agia Napa. In Larnaca, Minister of Labor and Social Insurance Yiannis Panagiotou attended at the Holy Church of Panagia Faneromenis, while in Paphos, Minister of Energy, Trade, and Industry George Papanastasiou participated in the ceremony at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Theodoros. Other officials attended Doxologies in various churches across Cyprus, including those in Paralimni and Poli Chrysochous.
Ministers and officials also joined Doxologies and parades in municipalities and communities throughout the country.
