Residents in Nicosia, Larnaca, and Famagusta should expect reduced water supply from Tuesday, February 17 through Thursday, February 19, as the Water Development Department carries out scheduled maintenance at the Dhekelia Desalination Plant.
The WDD said the preventive work is part of routine preparation ahead of the summer months, when water demand spikes. Officials stressed that the maintenance is crucial to keeping the system reliable and ready for peak usage.
Authorities are coordinating with all relevant bodies to manage available water as efficiently as possible, but they are asking the public to limit consumption to essential use only. “Responsible and prudent use of water contributes substantially to the collective effort to ensure the adequacy of water resources,” the department said, thanking residents for their understanding and cooperation.
