A weak low-pressure system is forecasted to affect Cyprus beginning Friday, bringing diluted dust across the region and intermittent strengthening of winds through Saturday.
Thursday forecast
The day will begin mostly clear, with some increased cloud coverage in areas. By midday, skies will become partly cloudy, with isolated showers likely, particularly in the mountains and eastern regions, where an isolated storm is possible.
Winds will predominantly blow from the northeast at 3 to 4 Beaufort, occasionally reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort. In western areas, winds will shift to southwest to northwest at similar strengths. Seas will be generally calm to slightly choppy, with temporary turbulence in northern and eastern areas. High temperatures are expected to reach around 27°C inland and along the coast, and 17°C in the mountains.
Thursday night
Clear skies will persist with increased cloud cover in some areas. Winds will blow northwest to northeast, initially at 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually strengthening to 4 to 5 Beaufort, especially along the coast. Seas will become slightly choppy.
Friday and weekend outlook
Friday will bring occasional cloudiness, with isolated showers and the potential for an isolated storm, particularly in the highlands and western regions. By Saturday and Sunday, conditions will turn partly to mostly cloudy, with local rain showers and isolated thunderstorms expected.
