Dust to persist in Cyprus this week

Clear skies expected despite dust in atmosphere

A weak low-pressure system is currently affecting Cyprus, leading to occasional dust in the atmosphere with varying concentrations.

The weather today will be mostly clear. Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to northwest, ranging from light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be choppy to slightly choppy. Temperatures are expected to reach 33 degrees Celsius inland, 27 degrees on the west coast, around 28 degrees on the rest of the coast, and 26 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear. Winds will shift to the northwest to northeast, staying light at 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly choppy. Temperatures will fall to 19 degrees Celsius inland, around 20 degrees on the coast, and 18 degrees in the higher mountains.

From Tuesday through Thursday, the weather will continue to be mostly clear. However, Wednesday will see occasional patches of increasing mid to high cloud. Temperatures will gradually rise slightly through Wednesday, staying well above average for this time of year, with no significant changes expected on Thursday.

Stay informed about the air quality and take necessary precautions due to the dust presence, especially those with respiratory conditions.
