A startling accident occurred on Sunday morning, November 16, at Faneromeni Square in Nicosia, when an elderly man inadvertently struck his wife with his car.
According to police reports, the couple had met at the church, where the man went to pick up his wife. As she opened the car door to get in, the driver mistakenly shifted into reverse, causing the vehicle to back into her.
The car continued moving and collided with several outdoor café tables, but fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
An ambulance arrived promptly at the scene, and the woman was taken to the hospital for precautionary checks and basic medical care.
Authorities have not reported any further details, and the incident is being treated as an accident.
