The Archbishop of Cyprus has issued a public warning after reports surfaced of a man falsely presenting himself as an Orthodox cleric. According to the Archbishop, the individual is not recognized by the Church of Cyprus or by any other Orthodox Church and has no ecclesiastical authority whatsoever.
The man, who reportedly operates mainly in the Paphos region and maintains a presence on social media under the name “Cleric Eirinaios,” has been appearing as a priest despite having no official affiliation with the Orthodox Church. Church leaders stress that his activities are misleading and unauthorized.
Church officials are urging the faithful to remain vigilant and to avoid any religious services, ceremonies, or gatherings connected to this individual. The Archbishop emphasized the importance of verifying clerical status through official Church channels to prevent deception and protect the integrity of Orthodox worship.
