In the past 24 hours, the fire service has addressed 25 incidents, including 11 fires and 14 special service calls. According to fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis, a fire erupted at 00:53 between the communities of Arsus and Omodos in the Limassol District. The blaze, fueled by dry grasses and low vegetation, was brought under control by ground forces by Thursday morning.
Since then, a firefighting helicopter has been conducting water drops to ensure complete containment, while ground teams continue to manage the area and address any potential reignitions. The fire has scorched approximately eight hectares. The cause of the fire is under investigation in collaboration with the police.
