Limassol Municipality offers air-conditioned spaces during heatwave

Details on locations and operating hours.

Press Release

The Limassol Municipality is urging residents to take extra precautions as a heatwave grips the region and is opening air-conditioned spaces to help the public cope with high temperatures.

According to a municipal announcement, two facilities will be available for public use: the Adult Activity Center, located at 41 Peiraios Street (P.C. 3016), will be open on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., while the “Ploutis Servas” Municipal Housing Complex, at 23 Misiouli and Kavazoglou Street (P.C. 3017), will operate on weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Officials are especially urging vulnerable groups to stay cool and avoid direct sun exposure. Residents are encouraged to follow public health guidelines for staying safe in extreme heat.

The municipality also called on residents to support local wildlife by placing containers of clean, cool water outside their homes for stray animals. Authorities asked that animals resting in shaded areas not be disturbed.

Limassol officials said the municipality remains available to assist residents as needed throughout the heatwave.
