Newsroom

In a recent incident on the Limassol to Paphos highway, traffic authorities have closed off the left lane following the collapse of a street light pole near the Germasogeia roundabout.

According to a report on Pafos Press, the closure is aimed at ensuring the safety of motorists amidst the ongoing hazard.

The police have issued a cautionary advisory urging drivers to exercise vigilance and maintain reduced speeds while also keeping safe distances between vehicles.

It's important to note that until 10:00 PM on Wednesday, a weather warning remains in effect. The Meteorology Department has issued an orange alert for rain and locally heavy thunderstorms, expected to predominantly affect the northern and eastern regions of the island intermittently.

This precautionary measure aims to mitigate potential risks and ensure the safety of all commuters during adverse weather conditions. Motorists are advised to stay updated on road advisories and exercise caution while traveling through affected areas.
