A 45-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Monday after police found him inside a residence in Nicosia while responding to a reported break-in.
Authorities received a tip-off around 1:00 a.m. about a suspected burglary. Officers went to the scene and, with the help of the property’s manager, gained access to the house to investigate. During their search, they discovered the man inside one of the rooms and immediately detained him for unlawful entry.
Following his arrest, police carried out a search of the suspect and found a number of tools commonly used in burglaries, along with other items he could not adequately account for. As a result, he is also being investigated for illegal possession of property and possession of burglary equipment.
The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue, with the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department handling the case.
