Man found dead in rural Nicosia

Authorities suspect ‘medical issues’ after man discovers brother’s body at a farm

Newsroom

Police are ruling out foul play following the discovery of a dead man in a pool of blood at a farm in rural Nicosia.

According to local media, a 37-year-old Polish national was found dead in a pool of blood in his bedroom, inside a shed next to a farm in Potamia, adjacent to the buffer zone in rural Nicosia.

Initial reports said police investigators had not ruled out any scenarios, while state forensic pathologists Nicholas Charalambous and Sofocles Sofocleous were called to the scene for an autopsy.

It later emerged that investigators were ruling out foul play while additional reports said the man’s brother had found the body and notified authorities.

A post mortem is expected to reveal the exact cause of death while unconfirmed reports said the man was having medical issues.
