Newsroom

The Justice and Public Order Minister, Anna Koukkidis-Prokopiou, couldn't make it to the Parliamentary Committee meeting discussing recent events in Limassol and Chloraka because she had a Council of Ministers meeting.

Nikos Tornaritis, the Committee Chairman, was surprised by Mrs. Koukidis' absence during the session. The Chief of Police, Stylianos Papatheodorou, was present.

The session of the Parliamentary Committee on legal, Justice, and Public Order started at 10:30 with the purpose of updating the Committee on recent events in the Chlorakas community and a protest in Limassol.

Besides the Justice Minister and the Chief of Police, the Mayor of Limassol, Nikos Nikolaidis, Chlorakas commune representative, Nikolas Liasidis, and the Chairman of the Cyprus Ports Authority Board of Directors, Antonis Stylianou, were also invited to the meeting.
