Athens is set to make history this summer with its first-ever direct air link to the West Coast of the United States, as Norwegian low-cost carrier Norse Atlantic Airways unveils its new service connecting the Greek capital to Los Angeles.

Starting on June 3, Norse Atlantic will operate four weekly flights between Athens International Airport and Los Angeles, utilizing Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The new route marks a significant milestone for both airlines and travelers, making it easier than ever for passengers to fly between these two bustling cities.

The flights, which will cover the 13.5-hour journey, are priced starting at 259 euros one-way, with no meals included. However, premium seating options are also available for those looking for added comfort. The service is set to run until at least September 29, providing travelers with the perfect opportunity to explore the best of California and Greece.

This new Athens-Los Angeles route follows the success of Norse Atlantic’s seasonal service linking Athens to New York’s JFK Airport last year. The Athens-New York flights, which operated between May and October, received positive feedback, prompting the airline to expand its offerings.

For Cyprus, this new connection to Los Angeles via Athens offers an added convenience. Instead of making a longer detour through the UK, Cyprus passengers can now connect through Athens, saving time and reducing travel complexity when heading to the West Coast of the US.

With demand for long-haul travel on the rise and tourism continuing to thrive, this direct connection between Athens and Los Angeles is expected to attract both leisure and business travelers eager to visit iconic West Coast destinations.

For Greek tourism, this direct air link strengthens ties between Greece and the United States while providing a more convenient and affordable option for American travelers heading to Athens. Meanwhile, Cyprus benefits from the proximity of the Athens connection, offering a more efficient route for travelers heading stateside.
