Nurses' callous response to a workplace accident in hospital

Exposing neglect and ''third-world conditions'' in a startling workplace incident at Larnaca General Hospital

Newsroom

A woman employed at Larnaca General Hospital sustained injuries after tripping and falling while on duty. When her supervisor called for first aid assistance, nurses allegedly refused to attend the scene, resulting in the need to call an ambulance to transport her a mere 10 meters away.

During an appearance on Sigma's program "Protoselido", the woman's attorney, Pieros Zapounis, revealed that the nurses responded to the request for help in a cynical manner, stating, "Load her up and bring her!" It should be noted that the woman, aside from the injuries resulting from the accident (including a fractured nose and eyebrow stitches), also suffers from other health issues.

Mr. Zapounis has written a letter to OKypY and the Ministry of Health, wherein he condemns the incident and highlights the substandard working conditions at Larnaca Hospital, which he describes as comparable to those in third-world countries.
