Drivers travelling between Paphos and Limassol this week are being advised to allow extra time for their journey, as the Paphos–Limassol motorway tunnel heading towards Limassol will remain closed during daytime hours due to maintenance works.
According to the Department of Public Works, the tunnel will be closed daily from 8am until 7pm until Friday, June 19.
During these hours, vehicles traveling towards Limassol will be redirected into the opposite carriageway, which will temporarily operate with two-way traffic.
Authorities are urging motorists to slow down and remain especially careful while passing through the roadworks area.
Police are calling on drivers to follow temporary road signs, maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and avoid speeding, as traffic conditions in the area have changed.
The works are expected to be completed by the end of the week, after which normal traffic flow through the tunnel is expected to resume.
