Traffic on the motorway near the Pissouri exit has been disrupted following a fire reported alongside the road on Sunday afternoon.
The motorway section next to the fire has been closed as a safety measure, with vehicles travelling towards both Paphos and Limassol being diverted onto the old Limassol-Paphos road, according to Police.
The closure is affecting traffic in both directions, with motorists using the alternative route while emergency crews deal with the incident.
Four Fire Service vehicles are at the scene, supported by aerial firefighting aircraft. Volunteer firefighting teams are also expected to assist, while additional support has been requested from the Episkopi Fire Station.
The fire is affecting dry grass and wild vegetation near the motorway.
Drivers travelling through the Pissouri area are advised to follow Police directions and use the designated diversion route until the motorway section is reopened.
