Testimony has been obtained against an individual, and a court-issued arrest warrant has been issued for the person, who is now wanted by authorities.
The Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) confiscated two kilograms of cannabis in the Famagusta district as part of an ongoing investigation.
According to a statement from the Police Communication Branch, the drugs were found in two packages that had been mailed from a foreign country to a recipient in the Famagusta district. The packages, which arrived in mid-March, were never claimed by any individual.
The statement also said that, through their investigation, YKAN secured testimony identifying a specific individual, for whom the arrest warrant was issued.
The investigation is being led by the Famagusta District Unit of YKAN.
