Landowners in Psevdas whose properties were affected by the July 27 wildfire are being urged to come forward as authorities prepare to begin recording the damage.
In an announcement, the Psevdas Community Council said officials from the relevant government departments are expected to visit the area in the coming days to carry out on-site assessments.
Anyone whose land was damaged and who intends to seek compensation must submit a written request along with a contact telephone number by 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10.
Providing those details will allow authorities to contact affected owners so they can be present when their properties are inspected and the damage is formally recorded.
The assessment follows the major July 27 fire that began in the Kalo Chorio area of Larnaca district and later spread toward surrounding communities, including Agia Anna and Psevdas, forcing evacuations as firefighters battled to bring the flames under control.
For residents and landowners, the upcoming inspections are an important next step in putting an official figure on what was lost and beginning the compensation process.
The Community Council is asking residents to share the announcement widely so that landowners, particularly those who may not live permanently in the village, do not miss Monday's deadline.
