Rain and cooler weather on the way

Mid-week cold front to head east, bringing showers and gradually lower temps to the island

Newsroom

Fair skies are expected in the early part of the week while a noticeable drop in temperature along with showers and thunderstorms will enter the picture after mid-week as a cold front from Europe heads east.

According to local media, Monday skies will be mostly clear in the early part of the day while high clouds are expected to appear in the late afternoon and evening.

Wednesday temperatures will drop noticeably west and in the mountains but only slightly elsewhere, while a further drop Thursday will be more noticeable island wide

Temperature highs in Celsius will range in the low to mid 20’s inland and along the coast, while levels high up in the mountains will remain in the mid to upper teens.

In the evening, lows will drop to upper single digits in the interior as well as high up in the mountains, while they will range between low and mid teens in coastal regions. Light fog and low cloud formations are expected overnight.

Cloudy skies will gradually become mostly cloudy on Tuesday as a cold front from the west finds its way into the eastern Mediterranean.

Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to drop noticeably in the west and high up in the mountains but only slightly elsewhere, with levels across the island remaining above normal averages for this time of the year.

A further temperature drop on Thursday will be more noticeable island wide with levels getting closer to normal averages.
