The Department of Forests is calling on everyone visiting rural areas, forests or the countryside to take extra precautions and avoid all actions that could put lives, property and the environment at risk.
Anyone who sees smoke or a fire is urged to report it immediately by calling 1407 (Department of Forests) or 112 (Fire Service).
Authorities stressed that public cooperation is one of the most important tools in preventing devastating wildfires during the summer months.
